A massive congratulations to Dr Catherine Purcell who swept the board last night at the Student Led Teaching Awards, collecting three of the four Faculty Level Awards (Best Academic Supervisor; Best Course Leader; Best Lecturer) and the University “winner of winners – best lecturer” award!

This is a massive, unprecedented and richly deserved achievement, reflecting the hard work and commitment Catherine has shown her students.

Autism and Neurodiversity Toolkit and Disability Passport ‘About Me’

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has worked in partnership with Autism Alliance UK and the Autism Task Group (comprising disabled people, parents and advocates, disability organisations and medical professionals/ academics) to develop an Autism and Neurodiversity Toolkit to help staff, from all Government Departments, better understand how they can support people with Autism and associated Neuro-Diverse conditions.

Together the group has also developed this Disability Passport ‘About Me’ that aims to support disabled claimants to safely disclose their disability or health condition to their Jobcentre Plus Work-Coach/ Adviser with the aim of improving communication and ensuring that appropriate, reasonable adjustments are identified and put in place at the earliest opportunity.

Successful bid for funding! Road Safety Trust

More Psychology Plus Internship Oppotunities Available

Throughout the year Research Dyscovery are offering research internships to undergraduate students in their second and third years. These posts will be 6 weeks in duration (a few hours per week) and will offer students the opportunity to gain real hands on experience of research-relevant skills within a developmental disorders setting. We hope that these posts will offer insight into many aspects of working in research, from the initial grant writing stage right through to publication in peer reviewed journals.
